Road & Highway Crossings in Tampa Bay

The standard crossing runs 80 to 400 feet under somebody's pavement: two dozen municipalities, four county public-works departments, or FDOT's district on the state system under the utility accommodation manual. We build the package for the owner of record, pothole everything the locates claim, and drill with the returns-watching habit that sand-over-karst demands even on a short street shot.

Homeowner straight talk, standing network policy: when the run is across your own open ground, trenching wins on price in these sands and we say so up front, free. Where a public road forces the crossing, real projects start at a $10,000 minimum; a rig, crew, locates, and traffic control have a floor on either side of the bay.

For utilities and GCs: send alignment, product spec, and the road owner; the quote comes back with permit scope, MOT, and vac-ex hours counted — the number that survives to the invoice.

Straight answers

Do you handle FDOT utility permits?

Yes — the state-system submittal with the bore plan attached, cover and location to the accommodation manual, and the district's realistic review window built into the quoted schedule rather than the optimistic one.

What if the ground turns out to be bad karst?

The plan already assumes it might: returns monitored, lost-circulation materials staged, and a written response that escalates from mud program to engineering review if conditions warrant. What we don't do is pretend the metro's geology away and price the surprise into a change order.
